Original Victorian black velvet and lace dress which has been adapted in the 1920's.
Short sleeve design with velvet cuffs and shoulders with lace insert, deep neckline with velvet collar wrapping around and down to the front hemline. Front bodice panel with fitted waistline and full length circular cut skirt with panels of velvet inserted in the skirt with the back being longer than the front.
This came with the satin 20's style slip which looks to have been made from the original dress with the lace dress now being worn as an over dress.
This is an amazing antique piece of fashion, it does have some issues with the lace in places ( see photos ) so will need carefully stitching in places or could be worn as is.
A great and rare surviving piece of fashion history.
